Hello and thank you for your question. I had to do some digging and have decided this would make a great newsletter article in the future. Here is a organizations in Ontario that I am registered with.

If you type in your advisors last name it should return his name and firm name in a hyperlink. Click on the hyperlink and in my case shows I am listed for mutual funds.

2) Life Insurance Agent

Enter the advisors last name and town or license number if you know it.

3) To check if a CFP

This one is more tricky. For me Don Maycock does not work, need to use Donald Maycock. I need to give these guys some feedback…their search criteria is too sensitive.

Even for me working in the industry, this was quite an exercise.
I also have a CIM, Canadian Investment Manager, designation. Also need to figure out how to add that.

Hi, who issues these licenses and how do I know if the guy I’m dealing with is not a scammer? He works with CI and he has started to be more sales orientated than I think he should be. I no longer have much regard for his opinion. Regards Ian.
